Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) Level 2 file used by GIS programs for displaying terrain elevation data; contains a uniformly-spaced grid of elevation points; used commonly in military systems that require terrain slope, elevation, and surface contour information.

DTED Level 0 .DT0 and Level 1 .DT1 files also capture terrain elevation data; Level 2 files have the highest resolution data, and Level 0 files have the lowest resolution; Level 2 data contain spacing of one arc second, or approximately 30 meters.
